Pod / SS2022 / Product design, Art Derction, 3d Modeling

Pod.

Pod series is a set of pet furniture designs inspired by two cats that used to live in the studio where I worked. The pieces are built with simple iron frames for support and acrylic panels for the main structure, giving them a clean and unique look. The goal is to create something that balances functionality and style...

Pod_100.

The Pod_100 Series replaces the iron frame with walnut wood, a material native to the Dali region, known for its warm texture and natural grain. Choosing walnut wood for the base is not only a replacement in materials but also an attempt to bring a sense of warmth and connection to nature to the design...

EpinDali / SS2024 / Product design, Brand Identity, Art Derction, Motion Graphics

EpinDali.

Epin Dali is a local mineral water brand from Dali. This project focuses on a conceptual upgrade of its brand identity. Renowned for its fresh, natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage, Dali offers a unique backdrop for inspiration. Through this design, I aim to integrate the region’s distinctive characteristics and the essence of nature into the brand’s visual system, creating a more direct and evocative connection to its origins.

EpinDali / SS2024 / Logo design, Visual Identity

Visual Concept.

By extracting elements from water’s surface patterns, I discovered similar motifs in the marble produced in Dali, characterized by cloud-like and Shanshui patterns. Just as water is hidden within deep rocks, the natural patterns of marble seem to externalize the underground flow of water within.

Cangshan, the most renowned mountain range in Dali and the source of this water, features contour lines that resemble rippling water when seen from above. These contour lines represent a way for humans to observe nature, much like how water ripples reveal the essence of water itself.

This design concept is built upon these three elements—water ripples, marble patterns, and contour lines. By simplifying these into clean, rhythmic lines, the design reflects purity, rhythm, and vitality. The central shape draws inspiration from the outline of Erhai Lake, further emphasizing the connection to the region’s natural features.

Turquoise / FW2020 / Brand Identity, 3D Visualization

Turquoise.

Turquoise is a hotel VI design project, centered on blending natural landscapes with modern aesthetics to create a brand identity rich in local character. In this project, I focused on developing 3D visual concept designs, using three-dimensional elements to convey the hotel’s brand essence and spatial ambiance.

Turquoise Veil / SS2022 / 3D Modeling, Visual Identity

Turquoise Veil.

This is a signature installation wall designed for the Turquoise project, inspired by the poetic expression of Dali’s natural environment. Through this design, I sought to integrate the imagery of Dali’s mountains and waters into the space, creating a distinctive visual identity for the brand while reinterpreting the relationship between people and their surroundings.

Lennon / FW2021 / Conceptual Design, Installation, Parallax

Lennon.

Lennon is an experimental art installation I designed for the newly established Anji Creative & Design Center (ACDC)in Anji County. The piece uses a series of suspended photographs to reconstruct John Lennon’s iconic image through layers and misalignments. This design delivers a spatial experience while symbolizing the multifaceted nature of Lennon’s ideas and artistic legacy.

Decompose.

Decompose is a personal project themed around “deconstruction and reconstruction” and “appearance and essence.” Using the same parallax principles as the ACDC installation. This series seeks to explore the complex relationship between elements and structures.

Sen_01 / SS2023 / Conceptual Design

Sen_01.

In observing everyday objects, I captured their essential forms using simple lines. With this approach in mind, I abstract the things I see into linear expressions, conveying their contours and structures in the most minimal way. This process is not just a pursuit of simplicity in form but also a deeper exploration of essence—what elements are truly indispensable in a complex reality?

Cube / FW2023 / 3D Modeling, Rendering

Cube.

To me, the greatest source of the unknown is the sky. Humanity relies on the thin atmosphere to survive on Earth. At altitudes exceeding 100 kilometers, humans lose their right to exist. For this reason, I may never be able to personally explore the universe in my lifetime. Therefore, even though countless theories and formulas explain the laws of the universe, the universe remains mysterious and incomprehensible to me, something I cannot even begin to approach.

Poison / SS2023 / 3D Modeling, Rendering

Poison Candy.

Jelly beans were one of my favorite sweets during my childhood, but they also bring back some bitter memories. Drawn in by their tempting colors, I would find myself eating them despite enduring toothaches. That was one of my struggles at the time and also a source of concern for my parents. Back then, I often wished for something or someone to stop me.

Match / SS2024 / Visual Concept, Photography

Match.

It is my daily habit to burn incense at home. As a result, the burnt-out matches lie in the trash can like lifeless bodies. So, I decided to collect them and create a tombstone for them.

Hanko / SS2023 / Visual Concept

Hanko.

The hanko is an essential part of life in Japan, and since I moved here, it has become as indispensable to me as a mobile phone. Its significance goes beyond mere practicality. It is not only a tool for document authentication but also a symbol of personal identity and individuality.

When I first arrived in Tokyo, I felt that life here resembled a hanko—everyone seemed confined within the circle of their own stamp, maintaining strict social distance. For me, this created a situation where it was very difficult to adapt. Therefore, I thought of using the hanko as a means to break through this situation.

Tension / SS2023 / Visual Concept

Tension.

In my life in Tokyo, commuting by train has become a daily routine, and gazing at the scenery outside the train window has become a part of my everyday life.
